The beauty world was out en force last night at the opening of the Illamasqua flagship store on Beak Street. As if marking the way into fashion week, Sophy Robson, Mike Pocock, Leighton Denny and other such beauty movers and shakers mingled with the cast of Harry Potter and more. I was lucky enough to nip into the store the day before its launch to have a Chat with David Horne, Illamasqua’s director of new product development
The amazing brand, whose creative director is the fabulous Alex Box, has released three visually stunning videos, featuring the actress Vicky McClure, which unravel the multi layered history and inspirations of Illamasqua.
This week is a busy one for my make-up brushes and yesterday I was able to shoot with session hairstylist Mark Francome Painter (you saw him here first) and photographer Tommy Clarke of GQ, Marie Claire and Vogue.com fame. I drew my inspiration from a number of things: firstly I had just been to the Illamasqua AW10 launch (more details to follow...) and seen Alex Box create what can only be described as beautiful monsters and secondly the work of make-up artist Julie Begin as seen last week on BBB's site
