Emma:

How did you get started?
I forced my friends to undergo such strenuous makeovers that by the end of my time at Durham University I realised I actually liked it enough to do it on strangers. I began working as a makeup artist and hair stylist on shoots and fashion shows and eventually began freelancing for Myface.cosmetics.

Alongside my freelance work (for publications such as Country Life and Vogue.com), I worked in PR but soon realised it didn’t quite quench my thirst for beauty products so I set up my own blog.

Since then I’ve been working and writing as the Deputy Editor on Beautyandthedirt.com and have co-founded TBB for like-minded, beauty-obsessed people such as Katie and myself.

Whats in your makeup bag?
Batiste (I haven’t gone a day without it since I was 14-years-old), Sisley’s Hydrating Long-Lasting Lipstick in Mandarin, a mini pot of Nivea Creme, a black M.A.C. eyeliner and Barbara Daly’s Perfect Lash Mascara (just in case I don’t have my extensions in).

Top tips?
NEVER put a bold coloured lipstick on without lip liner, always look both ways before you cross the road and NEVER trust a kiwi-fruit.

What’s in your make-up bag?
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge- because everyone should have a dewy, ‘I’m in love’ glow and myface.cosmetics foundation – there is no foundation quite like it.

Top Tip?
To keep lips looking buff-ting, give them a scrub with a soft baby tooth-brush each night and then coat in a non petroleum based lip balm.
