Show Me The Light
Last night I had the pleasure of heading down to the Soho Hotel to spend the evening in their amazing Terrace Suite with Philips as they took me through their two new groundbreaking electricals; The Lumea Precision and the RéAura laser skin rejuvenation. However the one I’m going to talk about today is the RéAura as it’s super exciting for anyone’s anti-ageing woes…
So what’s all the hype about?
The RéAura is the first ever light-based anti-ageing applicance available in the UK for home use. Philips have teamed up with the makers of the üer high-tech Fraxel laser system to create this form of laser skin rejuvenation and judging by the clinical tests the results are potentially amazing (out of the 55 people in the clinical test, 93% saw an improvement in the appearance of their skin).
Why buy it?
It’s non-invasive for a start. The laser (which is a lower intensity version of the super-strength in-clinic laser, safe to use at home) stimulates the skin’s natural rejuvenation process by sending thousands of microscopic laser beams into the epidermis and dermis layers. The stimulation of new skin cell and collagen production not only reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles but it also helps expel accumulations of pigment out of the skin.
Oh, and it is amazingly easy to use. All you have to do is apply the laser performance gel, treat the skin with the device and finally apply the aftercare. It’s recommended that it’s used twice a week for eight weeks.
The claimed results?
Sun and age spots fade, skin becomes smoother and has a more even skintone and fine lines and wrinkles become less apparent.
Thoughts?
Now I haven’t tried this system myself, however it looks impressive. It’s the first of its kind to use the Fraxel technology and when Katie first heard about it she was mighty impressed. It’s not cheap (RRP £799) however if anti-ageing treatments are something that tops your priority list for skincare, without wanting to go the invasive route, then this could be a hugely effective, long term investment.
At the event I was shown some amazing before and after photos and if they’re anything to go by, this system is definitely worth the money. It’s not going to get rid of Gordon Ramsey-esque craters but for an overall improvement in skin tone and texture, this product looks like a winner. Plus, you can use it on the back of your hands and décolletage, meaning you can treat all the areas that give away your years.
It’s currently stocked in SpaceNK stores exclusively for an RRP of £799 and the staff have been specifically trained to give information and support to customers that want to know more about the product.
